Selsey Camera Club

Joan Taylor

My interest in photography began in my early teens with a Kodak Brownie box camera.  Encouraged by my father I developed black and white films in the kitchen at home and contact printed from the negatives.  My father then built an enlarger from an old bellows Kodak camera.

I later followed my interest when working as a Lab. Technician, spending Saturday mornings in the darkroom at Nottingham University.  College days and lack of facilities meant that the next three years I spent taking colour slides.

After marriage, my husband remodelled the downstairs cloakroom and again I took up B&W photography.  My preferred subjects are Children (I used to take photos at the Playschool attended by my boys) and Landscapes.

I love digital photography but very much miss the “Wet Photography”
